item was exactly as described, shipping was timely.this monitor makes all my pictures look wonderful.I love it!!
My only regret is that it did not come with instructions for settings.There are still some kinks to work out but, they may be limitations imposed by my computer.

Dell ST2410 24-Inch 16:9 Aspect Ratio Flat Panel Monitor Review

It was a very simple Plug'n Play situation for my Mac Pro (Early 2009). Note that only a VGA cable is included in the box, so I had ordered the Dell 6.5
ft DVI-D Male/Male Display Cable (A0497000). The DVI-D cable connects directly to the Mac Pro DVI-D female connector--no adapter required. Power up the monitor and then the Mac Pro, and the auto-sensing does the rest. They mate up in the native 1920 X 1080 resolution at 60 Hertz. No sweat.

The OSD is very easy to use and the side buttons have a good feel. There is even a way to set up two shortcuts for quick access to the OSD options of your choice. The OSD is invoked by four buttons on the lower right side of the screen.

The only adjustments I've made so far is to use the side control buttons to adjust the Brightness down to 51 and Contrast down a little to 71. I also went into the Mac Pro's System Preferences and changed the Color Profile to "Display Calibrated" from the default "Dell ST2410." I did not perform any of the calibration adjustments available under the "Calibrate" menu, just selected the "Display Calibrated" from the left column.

The monitor only has tilt adjustment, no height adjustment. The center of the screen is about 10" above your desk surface. Depending on your seating, you may wish to place the monitor on a secure raiser of 2" to 3".

For a TN monitor, it has very sharp text and outstanding graphics. Running a basic "dead pixel" detector, I did not notice any stuck pixels. Dell does state in their warranty they find up to 5 defective pixels acceptable. As with all TN panels, the best picture is obtained viewing straight on. It may not be the best choice for a dual-monitor setup where each monitor is at an angle.

LG W2486L 24-Inch LED Backlit Monitor (Gloss Black) Review

Well, after researching this and reading Cnet reviews etc, I took the plunge.

Lessons Learned:
1. Brightness: Very nice. Absolutely no problem here despite what places like Cnet would have you believe. I honestly think that those nerds just imagine stuff sometimes.

2. Black Level: I'm a stickler for this and found this monitor to have deep blacks. I really don't understand the people who buy 4000 dollar plus televisions for "bottomless blacks." What nonsense.

3. Colors: Accurate as far as a layman like me can tell. Nice all around.

4. Whites: Pretty white? It looks white and not some washed out light gray.

5. Backlight: I was afraid of this when choosing a monitor. This one had maybe a very thin and faint backlight bleed around the bottom edge. I'm pretty anal about stuff like this but found it to be so insignificant that even during dark scenes I didn't notice it. And as usual, your backlight results vary depending on if you get a good one or not.

6. GAMES: No ghosting, awesome image, what more can you want?

7. Ergonomics? : I wish it tilted more, it's pretty limited when it comes to that. The buttons are fine and look cool too. It's nice to look at.

8. Viewing angles: Dont come in thinking you can watch it from some retarded angle and get the same quality. As usual with any monitor, you can see colors shift if you move your head too much. It was definitely noticeable with this one (its not some big 40 incher so what do you expect?). But who really watches a monitor from an off angle? You sit down look at the screen and do whatever. Perfectly fine as far as games go.
Overall, I'd buy it again if the need arose. I'm set with my games. Oh and seriously, when researching monitors, most reviews will be glowing simply because people want to justify their purchase. I had to return this one fo financial reasons but will be rebuying it in a few months. Its that good.

ASUS VK246H 24-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black with Webcam Review

I am a professional 15 years old experienced digital artist. I am working with professional screens at work, I also have dell 24wfp at home, I order this monitor from amazon for using dual screen for my reference pictures and web browsing on the other monitor, I wasn't expecting amazing quality, but I am really surprised with the image quality, my $800 Dell monitor is only slightly better then this Asus. First time I plug it, it was too bright, I mean the images, not the screen. I was kind of disappointed. Then I discover the scenery mode and I tweak the brightness, sharpness and the saturation, like about 5-10 minutes I get almost the same image like my dell monitor. Do not bother the other setups, just select the scenery mode and put this settings up,
Brightness 51, Contras 64, Sharpness 44, Saturation 50 or 55. so it's pretty much the same as calibrated dell 24wfp screen.

There is some downs on this monitor too, Up and down angles are getting darker, Left right is better, you don't move your head up and down much so if you can get the right angle it will work great. if you like to put your monitor high up, you are going to hate the stand, it is horrible. You can not move your monitor up and down, I put a ikea furniture piece to raise it up.
it is looking good actually, I glued some artwork on it, now it looks retro, I love it,but I am lucky that I have this furniture piece, Otherwise I might going to use books to raise it so it could be looks boring because I can only use my old Stephen king books as a raiser. :)
There is also details lost on light images, it is very very slight, sharpness is great, colors are amazing, I turn down the green a little like %3 to match my pro screen. So overall I am very pleased with this monitor even after stand and brightness works.
I still draw my images on my dell screen, because it's a bit better, also it has 1920x1600, so there is 120 pixel difference vertically.
so, it is perfect for second monitor, but if it is your only monitor and you are a digital artist, buy pro monitors. For other type of user this monitor is supersonic!Actually even if you are digital artist with a tight budget or if you are a beginner artist, it might be your favorite monitor.
if my pro screen dies, I might get one more Asus, and use that $600 difference for buying 600 glow stick from dollar stores then crack them at the same time and watch them.

Other then the image quality, I never test the speakers or HDMI I don't care.
Digital camera is not working with XP 64 bit because there is no driver, so it feels like my asus monitor has a blind eye on top of her head.
Anyways this is a good buy, for $209, it's a steal. I recommend this monitor anyone except digital artist who is going to use it as a main monitor as a main monitor.
