HYUNDAI 19-Inch WD 5MS/SPK/BLK/DVI LCD Monitor Review

Most people don't think of Hyundai when shopping for a Mointor, and neither did I. However, the price was pretty irresitible and, I'm glad I took a chance. This Monitor is well-made and set up could not have been easier. It is automatically adjusted to the output of my video card as soon as I plugged it in. Most people who have seen it in my office are pretty amazed at how little it cost.

BenQ V2200 Eco LED Backlight LCD Monitor (White) Review

I purchased this about a month ago now, and I am very impressed for the price.Colours are outstanding and the contrast ratio is extremely good for a TN monitor.I was a little skeptical of BenQ but I have used their products before and have been happy with the quality for the price.There were no dead pixels on the monitor.Veiwing angle is not the best on the monitor, not a concern for me though due to the desk it is on.Overall I really like the monitor and it is the only one that I know of that is 1980x1200 and LED backlit for under $300 USD!

LG W2286L 22-Inch LED Backlit LCD Monitor (Gloss Black) Review

This is an incredible buy.

It is very easy to setup and has software for changing the monitor settings if you choose vs. using the buttons on the front panel.

The resolution and contrast is awesome, and with a 2ms refresh rate it is perfect for gaming, movies, videos, etc..

It has jacks for VGA, DVI, and HDMI and can be swtiched between them at the touch of a button, so you can have multiple devices attached to it and just change between them. It also comes with VGA, and DVI cables.

On top of all of this, it is an LED monitor so the power usage is much less than other LCD monitors.

This is such a great price for such a beautiful monitor.

Acer B243HLbmdrz Black 24" 5ms Widescreen 1920x1080 LED Backlight LCD Monitor w/ Built-in Speakers Review

I chose this monitor to use with my Apple MacBook Pro MC374LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop because of its features: LED backlight, built-in speakers and USB hub. The only accessory needed is a mini display port to DVI adapter. (The Kanex iAdapt DVI works great). Upon unboxing this monitor, you will not find anything on the product or in the (basically useless) manual that says it is using LED backlight technology. In fact it looks pretty much like a typical LCD monitor. But, when hooking it up and turning it on, it is clear that it is using LED backlighting given the excellent contrast and black levels it is able to produce. One other thing to note is that this monitor has a matte screen, which has the advantage of eliminating background reflections, but some may find it less pleasing to look at than a high-gloss screen.

The USB hub works perfectly. I have hooked up an Apple Aluminum Wired Keyboard MB110LL/A and Logitech Corded Mouse (M500) to the USB hub and there are absolutely no issues thus far.

Out of the box monitor produces a picture with excellent resolution and detail. The colors it produces are excellent as well. It also works very well with movies, especially when watching high quality DVDs. The sound quality is suitable for teleconferencing, but not for serious music.

The default display profile for the Acer B243HL can be selected from the "Displays" settings from MacBook Pro's "System Preferences" screen. Additional calibration was necessary from the MacBook Pro's "Displays" settings as well as the Acer's on screen menu to make the colors, contrast, brightness and gamma match my MacBook Pro. (If you are interested, the following are my settings on the Acer's on-screen menu: Contrast: 80, Brightness: 64, ACM: Off, Red: 64, Green: 54, Blue: 68). I found the Acer's primary green has a slight yellow tinge in comparison to the MacBook Pro's primary green - which is why the additional color calibration on the Acer's on-screen menu was necessary.

While I am very pleased with my purchase, in my opinion this monitor is more suited for office use than for photography or studio use, in which case the Apple LED Cinema Display 24-Inch MB382LL/A would certainly be a better choice.

For anyone considering purchasing this monitor, here are my comparative ratings, on a scale of 1 to 10, of the Acer B243HL and the Apple LED Cinema Display.

Build Quality
Acer: 8Apple: 10(While the Acer's build quality is good, Apple's is excellent).

Features
Acer: 7 Apple: 10 (The Apple includes a microphone, webcam and a MagSafe power adapter for the MacBook)

Aesthetics
Acer: 6 Apple: 9 (Acer's all black look is drab in comparison's to Apple's eye candy)

Ergonomics
Acer: 10 Apple: 6 (Acer has Apple beat here, since it has swivel, tilt and height adjustments)

Screen Resolution:
Acer: 9 Apple: 10 (Apple has 1200 lines versus 1080 on the Acer)

Screen Quality:
Acer: 8 Apple: 10 (Apple's high-gloss display is both smoother and slightly sharper than the Acer)

Picture Quality:
Acer: 8 Apple: 10 (Very slight dithering artefacts are present in the Acer in comparison to the Apple)

Color Quality:
Acer: 8 Apple: 10 (Apple's skin tones look slightly more natural).

Sound quality:
Acer: 5 Apple: 7 (The sound quality on the Acer is fine for Skype or videoconferencing, but definitely not for music).

All said and done, despite the overwhelming superiority of the Apple LED Cinema Display over the Acer, there are no obvious deficiencies in the Acer that would keep me from recommending it. Remember that the Apple LED Cinema Display costs three times as much as the Acer B243HL. If you main need is for work or every day use - document editing, software development, browsing the internet or basic photography - this monitor is a very good choice.

If you are looking for a studio quality monitor for serious photography or movie-editing, consider spending the additional money on the Apple 24" LED Cinema Display instead.

My only regret is that it did not come with instructions for settings.There are still some kinks to work out but, they may be limitations imposed by my computer.

LG W2486L 24-Inch LED Backlit Monitor (Gloss Black) Review

Well, after researching this and reading Cnet reviews etc, I took the plunge.

Lessons Learned:
1. Brightness: Very nice. Absolutely no problem here despite what places like Cnet would have you believe. I honestly think that those nerds just imagine stuff sometimes.

2. Black Level: I'm a stickler for this and found this monitor to have deep blacks. I really don't understand the people who buy 4000 dollar plus televisions for "bottomless blacks." What nonsense.

3. Colors: Accurate as far as a layman like me can tell. Nice all around.

4. Whites: Pretty white? It looks white and not some washed out light gray.

5. Backlight: I was afraid of this when choosing a monitor. This one had maybe a very thin and faint backlight bleed around the bottom edge. I'm pretty anal about stuff like this but found it to be so insignificant that even during dark scenes I didn't notice it. And as usual, your backlight results vary depending on if you get a good one or not.

6. GAMES: No ghosting, awesome image, what more can you want?

7. Ergonomics? : I wish it tilted more, it's pretty limited when it comes to that. The buttons are fine and look cool too. It's nice to look at.

8. Viewing angles: Dont come in thinking you can watch it from some retarded angle and get the same quality. As usual with any monitor, you can see colors shift if you move your head too much. It was definitely noticeable with this one (its not some big 40 incher so what do you expect?). But who really watches a monitor from an off angle? You sit down look at the screen and do whatever. Perfectly fine as far as games go.
Overall, I'd buy it again if the need arose. I'm set with my games. Oh and seriously, when researching monitors, most reviews will be glowing simply because people want to justify their purchase. I had to return this one fo financial reasons but will be rebuying it in a few months. Its that good.

LG E2350V 23" 1080p LED LCD computer monitor Review

This monitor is low cost and lightweight.Adjustment on the stands are limited to tilt. Image quality, sharpness, and contrast are generally good, except for color temperature: the monitor generally appears very "cool", probably due to the LED backlighting.However, it's tolerable even for movies and games.The LED lighting allows for high dynamic range display, which looks impressive next to other monitors. Keep in mind that the high contrast only works for larger regions; text and fine graphics render as they do on a regular display.Still, it's a nice effect for games and movies.The LED lighting also makes the monitor more energy efficient (it stays noticeable cooler than other monitors). Altogether, it's a cheap, nice-looking, lightweight monitor.
