Samsung 2033SW-1 20-Inch LCD Monitor (Black) Review

Ignore the review titled defective monitor. It seems the author don't know much about computers/monitors.There is a small set up instruction page and the disc that comes with the product contains the manual, disc drives, and background applications(such as magictune) to increase the products performance. However if you have a higher end, plug'n'play graphics card, the card driver takes control of the applications, and the monitor driver, simply assists. In other words, the only setting you can't adjust from your desktop, are either able to be changed on the monitor itself or auto-tuned.

As for the display, it's flawless.Crisp and clear, with several settings options, on the monitor itself, to help you adjust for the type of media your viewing,(Movie, Gaming, Sports, Web browsing, text) much like a new flat panel TV.The performance is stellar, with a very fast 5ms response time. 50,000:1 contrast ratio and HDPC allows for more vivid/sharper images. And the 16:9 aspect ratio allows for display settings up to 1600x900.

Currently, it is a bit pricier then other monitors the same size (the only reason it didn't get 5/5 stars). However, since my last monitor (an AOC 19in) only lasted 2yrs before it broke down completely, and I was willing to pay that extra $20 for the quality and performance associated with Samsung.

This moniter has a great picture and it is very slim. The colors on this moniter are so much clearer then my old flat screen monitor. The 19" display is a great size. Not to big, not to small. I highy recommend this monitor.

HP W2007 20-inch Widescreen Flat Panel LCD Monitor Review

This monitor is my first LCD and was an upgrade to a ViewSonic 17".I cannot get over how beautiful the colors and picture are.I find myself loading up old games and DVDs just to examine the quality.

It does not come with a DVI cable which I could not find any indication of on the box itself. Also, the information listed here on Amazon under "Technical Details" and "Product Description" differs in regards to the supported resolution. The "Technical Details" are correct. The suggested resolution is 1680 x 1050 and not 1440 x 900.I suspect the smaller resolution is probably correct for the 19" w1907 model.

I did not have a DVI cable already, so at first connected it using the included 15 pin cable and was very impressed on first use. Then I managed to get a DVI-D M/M cable and was even more impressed at the gorgeous picture quality.Definitely worth the extra purchase of a DVI cable.Just don't buy one at a local store where they go for upwards of 50 bucks.Amazon is a wonderful and very affordable alternative.

Mainly my experience with this monitor is in a Windows XP SP2 environment, although I do have a dual boot with Mandriva Linux. The printed instructions that came with the hardware were limited to a simplistic poster which was clear enough and the Windows software installation from the included CD went quickly and flawlessly.Getting the monitor setup in the Linux environment, however, was a bit of a chore and I still have yet to get it do display in the maximum resolution of 1680 x 1050.But that is probably more related to my own challenges using Linux.

I highly recommend this product. The widescreen aspect is outstanding for DVDs and iTunes videos.World of Warcraft never looked so beautiful on my system. In fact it's performed beautifully for every game I've thrown at it so far: WoW, Quake3, BF1942, BF2.Couldn't be happier.Except with maybe a 30". ;)

Apple M7649Zm/A Studio Display 17" LCD Monitor Review

I was initially unsettled about the thought of buying a flat panel display because of the nature of the color critical work I am required to do; especially after seeing other flat panels in action at CompUSA, Circuit City, ect. Also, a flat panel seems more of a luxury than a need to get work finished. But, post-purchase, I could not be more satisfied with this display. Now, when I use any CRT display, it appears fuzzy and out of focus.I love my new display and it is well worth the cost!

Dell Ultrasharp 2007fp 20-inch Flat Panel LCD Monitor with Height Adjustable Stand Review

One of the few monitor available with a 4:3 dimension ratio.Great for photo editing, it also pivots from landscape to portrait (and goes up or down easily) if you need to see a larger portrait format.Very easy to install and with very fine definition, great colors and blacks. More features (for gamers I think) that I would use.Really fantastic clear, flat image with good viewing angle.

As usual I did a fair amount of research on foot and on the web. This model seemed to be a favorite of photograph editors.Of course it is excellent for everyday computing too.I can sit 3 to 4 feet away from the monitor and read comfortably text that's 9 points high ( I am an older guy) with the screen resolution set at 1280 x 1024 pixels! (Screen dimensions are 16" wide by 12" high - Max pixels is 1600 x 1200 )

I hope Dell continues to make 4:3 monitors. The present direction is for 16:9 wide screens though (my local tech center did not carry any 4:3 hence my purchase from Amazon) so get yours while there are still some around.

Also of note: the shipping (not from Amazon) was free and the product was delivered in 2 or 3 days (from TX to PA).

Gateway HX2000 bmd 20-Inch Widescreen LCD Display - Black Review

This monitor has good image quality, however, it is very reflective so you always see yourself and/or room lights on the screen. The screen will tilt but can not be raised. Has DVI and analog input.

I got it with the Gateway system for only twenty bucks extra (all under five hundred), so I can't complain too much. :-)
