Auria EQ2668 26-Inch 1080p LCD Display (Piano Black) Review

Auria EQ2668 26 inch 1080p LCD DisplayDisplay quality is not quite as nice as more expensive monitors I own.The contrast/brightness is not as good. There is a little color blowout and not quite as sharp looking.Having said that, it is still a good display and certainly seems like good quality for the low price.

Samsung Touch Of Color T260HD 25.5-Inch LCD HDTV Monitor Review

Samsung Touch Of Color T260HD 25.5 inch LCD HDTV MonitorThe Samsung T260HD is the best monitor I've ever owned. I was using dual 19 inchers (Samsung 940BX and Samsung 971P) and this blows both of them away.I'm an amateur photographer and my photos look amazing on this monitor -- big screen, high resolution, clear bright colors. The images are very sharp and detailed. There is so much detail in the images, it's almost like being there.Photos have more detail in both the highlights and shadows than any other monitor I have used.I love this monitor.

With the default settings, the monitor was a little too bright, so I turned the brightness down to 50 and then profiled the monitor with my Monico Optix XR color puck. Now the monitor produces less bright and more natural colors. The photos show more detail in both highlight and shadow areas than any previous monitor. The built-in 1080P HDTV works great too.It automatically found all of my DTV stations without a cable box -- in fact it found even more than my cable box shows.Standard DVDs look very good on it too.The monitor was easy to setup and use both as a monitor and as a TV.The remote is just the right size, with all the essential buttons and enough space between them for even my large fingers. The remote lets you switch between TV mode and monitor mode with a single button push.

Initially I couldn't play Blu-ray movies on this monitor and the Cyberlink Blu-ray advisor reported a digital connection that didn't support HDCP.The problem turned out to be lack on HDCP support in the GeForce 7600GT video card.I upgraded the video card to a GeForce 9800GT and now Blu-ray movies play just fine.Blu-ray movies have a little more detail, but standard DVDs look great too.

The screen seems to have an anti-glare feature -- light coming in my window that used to cause glare on my other monitors, is not a problem on this monitor.I haven't verified this in the specs, but it just seems to have less of a glare problem than other monitors.

Now that I have this large widescreen monitor, I've started watching DVDs and instant Netflix movies on it. Both look great. With a high speed connection, the instant view movies look almost as good as DVDs.

I still have a 19inch monitor to the side of this one for games that don't display well at this resolution. It also adds as an overflow monitor when I get lots of stuff running.

This monitor is a little slow to wake up after being asleep (Windows power management).I discovered that it wakes up better when detecting a mouse click than just moving the mouse.

I tried using the monitor from both the HDMI and DVI connectors and found no noticeable difference in display quality.

The sound quality from the built-in speakers is okay for watching standard TV, but I normally use my Logitech THX-certified Z-2300 speakers which are much better. When using the T260HD as a TV I let the sound come out of its own speakers, but when using it as a monitor, the sound routes through the Logitech Z-2300 speakers. They have excellent sound for both movies and gaming and are only $83 on Amazon.

If you are thinking of getting one of these monitors, just do it.You will love it.

SAMSUNG P2570 24.6-Inch LCD Monitor Review

SAMSUNG P2570 24.6 inch LCD MonitorI purchased 2 of these monitors to run a dual-monitor setup in my home office. My initial concerns when purchasing were a lack of USB ports in the monitor, no webcam, and a fixed base for a stand. However, a leading name brand, great size, and great specs convinced me to take the plunge.

Assembly took about 25 seconds. It took another 25 seconds to hook up the included DVI cables, and I was up and running. My first thoughts after hooking them up were 1.The picture is crystal clear.2.The size is awesome. 3.What an elegent look having the glossy black frame with clear glass borders and clear glass stand.

I don't buy monitors for bells and whistles, I buy them for viewing.1 screen EASILY fits 2 full sized web browsers.I love the dual screen set up with 4 full sized browsers.

With the HDMI connection, I'm going to hook up our Cable box and switch the input so my wife can watch her recorded shows in high definition on the right monitor while editing her photos with the left one.If my son wants to hook up his Xbox, thats an option as well.

Overall, if you want an amazing high resolution experience and a lot of screen real estate to work with for a really fair price, I highly recommend this monitor. If you are in love with the built in webcam/usb ports/adjustability and positioning of the screen, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Samsung P2770HD 27-Inch 1920x1080 5ms 16.7M Multifunction LCD Monitor Review

Samsung P2770HD 27 inch 1920x1080 5ms 16.7M Multifunction LCD MonitorThis Samsung isa nice hybrid. It works great as a computer monitor and serves admirably as an HDTV.I had purchased a 26" Samsung HDTV before this, but it did not cut it as a computer monitor.I did have a chance to compare them side-by-side, and the the 26" Samsung HDTV may have had a slight advantage as an HDTV, but not much. Both TVs have the exact same remote and the exact same on-screen menus. This unit has fewer input choices and has a stand that allows you to angle the TV.Speakers are decent and include the Samsung TruSurround, even if the box doesn't say so (it's a selectable choice in the audio options).

The only thing this TV/monitor is missing is picture-in-picture.That would make it a true hybrid, but at this price point, the features and quality are more than acceptable.

Samsung P2370HD 23-Inch Full 1080p HDTV LCD Monitor - Black Rose Review

Samsung P2370HD 23 inch Full 1080p HDTV LCD Monitor - Black RoseThe P2370HD is an exceptional monitor for people with modest demands of their display. On the plus side, it has very good colour for a TN-type panel (more on this in a second), absolutely fantastic connection options, one of te fastest displays in current availability and a bright, vibrant picture which is only offset by a merely-average black level and some backlight bleed with extremely dark images (helped by Dynamic Contrast but not in all situations). It lacks a pivot, a terrible omission, but is still fairly stable on its (non-adjustable) base. It connects to 4:3 and 16:9 sources, even composite and component SD sources, as well as HDMI, DVI and VGA sources (but DualLink DVI-D is strongly advised), and the 1920x1080 native resolution is perfect for 16:9 movies and BluRay.

Thus, if you simply need a very good TV or home computer display, stop reading now and get out your credit card. However, this is only a *fair* monitor for professional photo or graphics work. Like all TN displays, it suffers from slight but significant changes in gamma when viewed more than a few degrees off-axis, and even at 6500 K has a teensy pink tinge which can be compensated for with good colour calibration, but with a corresponding reduction in gamut. Despite sRGB's 2.2 gamma, this monitor performs much better closer to 1.8 or to its native gamma of 2.7+. There is also faint banding on grey ramp tests which is to be expected from a 6-bit display, again compensatable by compressing the dynamic range, but then it also takes away from the contrast range the monitor has to offer. Incidentally, don't use Dynamic Contrast when connected to your PC or Mac, it's really very distracting. Adjust the contrast and brightness yourself.

Note that all of the things I've complained about will go completely unnoticed by probably 90% of customers and this monitor outperforms a great many lesser displays which show problems similar to this much worse, which is why I gave it the four-star rating. However, for the 10% of us who need a colour-perfect display and can tolerate a slightly slower speed, an IPS panel would be strongly advised, even for a display that is (for a TN) as good as this one. While I'm keeping mine to use as -- surprise! -- a television set, I'll be buying an IPS panel for my photo work. But everybody else will love it.
