I wanted to upgrade my old 15" Viewsonic monitor to something larger, and saw this Acer 19" monitor on the web.I was unfamiliar with Acer products, but the price was great, so I decided to give it a try.I'm so glad I bought this monitor!Right out of the box, the first thing you notice is it's design.It has a nice, glossy black frame around the screen, and a silver base shaped like an inverted V.All of the controls are easily accessible at the bottom front of the screen.The power button glows blue when the monitor is on and orange when in standby mode.
Acer includes an eDisplay Management software program which will allow you to tweak the display settings to your liking, and to quickly change between any of 5 display modes:standard, text, graphics, movie or user defined.
I've been using this monitor for over 2 months now and the only downside I've found is that it is very bright using the factory default settings.
I love the fact that this is a widescreen monitor; DVD movies in widescreen format look great, and I can leave the Google or Yahoo widgets up at the right side of the screen and still have plenty of viewing space for my internet browser.I'm not a gamer, so I can't comment about using this monitor for computer games.
