This monitor is an absolutely incredible value for the price.Cheap, great picture, top notch color, all the quality and speed you'd expect from a Samsung LCD monitor, and a really attractive design that looks great on your desk. My only hesitation is that I think the ideal wide screen monitor is a couple inches larger than this (I use a 22" widescreen at work), but I just couldn't resist the price of this beauty when replacing my NEC MultiSync 17" CRT monitor at home (which was a very good monitor as well in it's day with great color).
You'll definitely want to drop the brightness level on this Samsung though as the default factory setting is pretty hard on the eyes.
I'm using the DVI connection and recommend you do the same if at all possible - DVI really helps sharpen up LCD's.
If your wallet is feeling a little thick lately, I'd get Samsung's 22", but otherwise you'll still be thrilled with this monitor.
