
Ever watch a movie on the big screen, then get the home version? With a laserdisc you get similar picture quality to that of what you got in the theater, but with no loss in the quality of sound. It's like being at the movies without going anywhere, so you can watch Arnold walk up to Sarah Conner and say "Come with me if you want to live." He feel the same way as you did the first time you saw it.
Note: for more modern movies, 1998 or so, DVD and Blueray are better, but anything before that, laserdisc is the way to go.
