I was looking for a nice large monitor to attach to my 15 inch macbook pro. The only problem i have encountered is it is a bit difficult to get the base attached to the monitor. The socket in which it goes is very tight and it took a while and a lot of force to get it in there. The directions about this part were very unclear.Once the monitor was set up i plugged it in to the wall, then my computer through the included dvi cable and powered it on. Picture showed up in full resolution right away with no need to install drivers or make any adjustments.
This monitor works great as a second monitor, or even as the only monitor with the macbook closed. The picture is great and this monitor has a 16x 9 aspect ratio instead of the normal 16x10. This makes it great for watching movies or online tv shows.

edit: Some mac users appear to have had problems with getting the brightness and color settings the way they wanted. After using this monitor for almost a year, I agree that in a dark environment some sort of brightness control would be nice. Also, using the color tab under displays in system preferences i was able to calibrate the colors sufficiently to my liking.
Overall after a year I have had no problems whatsoever with this monitor, and i would definitely but it again. Compared to an apple display at 3-4x the price, in my opinion it was a no-brainer.
